My passion is to be able to help you discover the benefits of Pilates, whether you are a first-time exerciser or a sportsperson wishing to complement your performance or reduce the risk of injury.
I've been interested in health and fitness since my teens - swimming, cycling and running, and going to the gym a couple of times a week for many years. I have taken part in many fund-raising sporting events and raised thousands of pounds for charity.
Being fit has always been an important part of my life. So, when I discovered Pilates whilst training for the London Marathon in 2004, I was hooked immediately. It quickly became my favourite exercise session of the week!
I found Pilates really complemented my running, made me stronger and helped me overcome an injury to my lower back. It also improved my posture and made me much more aware of my body.
Having experienced the benefits of Pilates myself, I decided to train as an instructor so I could pass on the benefits of Pilates to others. I qualified with Body Control Pilates, who are one of the top associations for Pilates in the UK.
I chose to train with Body Control Pilates due to their rigorous training and examinations which are above the standard required to attain REPs Level 3, and also because of their comprehensive on-going training programme. Since qualifying I have gone on to complete the following additional courses:
